Creating an online course is fairly easy. Creating a decent online course, one that generates sustainable revenue for years to come is still fairly easy, but it requires a decent amount of (totally doable) work.

Online courses are solely responsible for me going from a freelancer, only getting paid when I did client projects, to a product creator, getting paid even when I’m sleeping (or eating a vegan burrito). And, while they aren’t a money tree that requires zero work, they generate much more revenue than is possible doing 1-to-1 work with clients.

For about $60/month you can own the platform your course uses, which lets you be in 100% control of what you do, how you sell it, what it looks like, and the overall customer experience. That’s worth it to me (instead of using a hosted platform) and I can cover my costs with only needing a single sale per month.
